I have had partners be deliberately hurtful and then make a habit if ‘forgetting’ immediately after, no need to be accountable for what you don’t remember. I think that is rude and dangerous behavior. However I have been known to reach out in an attempt to talk through and mend a relationship after I’ve had a time to come to terms and assess how I value the other person, not that it always works but that is their right and choice to make if I had been unreliable in my friendship.
