Life is full of changes, ups and downs, moments that make us laugh and moments that make us cry. Often, we feel out of control, but there is usually something we can control. Whether you just got a new job, just started college, are going through a divorce, or if you just had a baby, or got married. Whether you are experiencing one of the greatest moments of your life, or the worst…one thing you can control is your hair.
You can cut it, get extensions or make the awful decision to get bangs. You can go blonde or red or black. You can get highlights or cover them up. Whatever you decide…you can essentially become a whole new person.
However, if you are unhappy with something in your life…changing you hair is not going to fix it. At the end of the day your life will be the same as it was before you decided to make a relatively permanent change. You have to learn to love the person in the mirror. You have to realize that they are the only ones who will always be with you, day in and day out. You have to be sure the person looking back at you is FOR you. You have to know that they are strong and capable.
It’s never about a new haircut, new hair color, or bangs. There’s something going on in life that you are trying to cover up. Something you wish you could change but you just don’t have control over it. Buy a wig, buy some clip in extensions, buy some clip in bangs; wear that for a week…everyday. If you still love it, wear it for one more week. It’s never just about the hair, but maybe this temporary thing will help you address whatever is going on in your life.
You can’t cover up your hurt or frustration with a new hairstyle, but you can go into the salon and talk to your stylist about what’s going on in your life. We went into the profession with a heart for people. Not only do we want you to love what you see in the mirror, but we also want you to love WHO you see in the mirror.
We know that if you’re blonde and decide to make your hair brown, it will take several months to get it back blonde. We know if you have long Rapunzel hair and you cut it into a chin length bob it could take a year to grow it back out. If you don’t have the face shape for bangs it will also take several long headband/clip filled months to grow them back out. We went to school and learned all about face shapes and skin tones so we can help our clients make the best decision that will make them look their most beautiful. You may not feel like it but we love you and want you to be happy.
It’s never just about a hair change.
