lately I’ve been feeling really down. lets say it started with trump. trump is the reason I can’t look at some friends and family the same anymore. one person is my go to friend for hanging out but she insists on staying ignorant on the issues, but when i do mention something i hate that trump did lately she defends him. but she’s ignorant of the facts and it frustrates me so much.
I am trying to plan a get together with other friends, but it’s like pulling teeth. so today I joined a meetup group for a hike, hoping to make friends… that didn’t happen. so ya
    I feel so alone

      Hello,
I do not mean to be judgemental because I definitely do not know you but I will pose a few questions to ask yourself!

      – why are you judging your friends on such a broad subject as is politics. It is not a definite portrayal of a person because no one fits into a perfect side. People are complex!

      – if you lean more to the left then you ought to agree that people should have they’re opinions and choices respected. They have opinions, you have opinions, great! No one in the end is hurting anyone for their beliefs!

      – you had friends before Trump came along! Trump will one day be gone. Why sacrifice friendships over someone so insignificant!

      – why are you politicizing your friendships something that is not political?

      – if indeed opposing beliefs is that distasteful to you have you never understood the concept of keep your friends close and your enemies closer?
It helps bridge and understand concepts deeper so you become more considerate, empathetic, and tolerant person. We need that in this World right now.

      – why are you only reading the news about Trump? Why not start your day out with more positive endeavors and put down the news?!

The media is using you as a puppet! Stop listening to it!

      Good Day!

Stay strong. There are likeminded people out there. Depending where you live you may have to move but don’t worry, a lot of us also think he’s terrible. 🙂

Couldn’t agree and emphasize more with you. I actually dropped some of my friends who turned out to be covert Trump supporters. emboldened by Trumps nomination they revealed their right wing fascist tendencies. Yuck, just yuck.

Like you , I rather be alone, or paint my wall white , enjoy the blue sky, or walk Ralph’s groceries aisles than hang out with gun toting , racist ,,alt right republicans.

KC, What do you mean nobody is hurting anyone with their beliefs???? That’s insane. Trump, and the people who support him and egg him on, are hurting women who require health care and birth control, DACA children, law abiding minorities who are treated as criminals because of the color of their skin, gay people who want to be allowed to get married and serve in the military, Muslims who want to travel and visit their families here in the US, every single American who is not Christian that doesn’t want to live in a theocracy, poor and middle class parents who can’t make a living wage and support their families while working full-time, not to mention the environment that we all live in. That’s just off the top of my head. Wake up! If you support all of these things, it says everything about who you are as a person.
