Hello fellow citizens of America,
I hope this letter finds you well, that you read it with deep emotion and sincerity, and know that everything I am about to say comes within the deepest depths of my soul, and from the bottom of my heart. Throughout this letter I promise to leave out my personal political stance because of my own decisions, so please do not make your own assumptions of which candidate I voted for, because that is not what I am trying to persuade you with, or what I wish to make the point of this letter.
The immediate reaction of the new elected president, Donald Trump, was not a happy or peaceful one. This is politics, and people have their own rights to either disagree or agree with whomever they choose. Many have said that racism/LGBTQ hatred/sexism is now getting bigger than it has been in a long time. Whether you disagree or not, that is something that has been said, and there are many instances already happening in our country. I want you to come out of your body, and look at yourself from the outside. Please pay no mind to what race, gender, or sexual preference you have. Are YOU YOURSELF being respectful to all other people, if they are respectful to you? Are YOU going through your life being COMPLETELY UNBIASED TOWARDS any individual regardless of what they look like, or any other pre-conceived notion you can possibly think of? Are you doing everything you can to prevent violence and hatred in this country? Are you spreading peace, regardless of who you voted for, or who won the election? Because let’s think about this, my friends: WE ALL live in this country, and we will continue to live in this country, because what this country was built on stands for FREEDOM, HOPE, AND UNITY. DO NOT LET YOUR HOME COUNTRY, OR THE COUNTRY YOU PRIDE YOURSELF IN NOW, MAKE YOU FEAR YOUR LIFE, OR WANT TO RUN AWAY. Do not run away, because that means you give up on America. If you are a proud American, you will not give up on your country, and everything it once stood for, and should still stand for.
That being said, I know people of color who have voted for President Trump, LGBTQ Americans who have voted for Yrump, and women who have voted for Trump. Once again, I would like to remind you that I have not hinted at which political party or candidate I lean more towards, so please refrain from any comments insinuating that I am biased. Just because someone voted for Trump, does not mean that they are racist, sexist, and anti-LGBTQ. Folks, if you a person who thinks that, then you are doing to Trump supporters EXACTLY WHAT PEOPLE HAVE MOSTLY LIKELY DONE TO YOU AT SOME POINT. Everyone has felt stereotyped or judged by things they can’t control in their life, I don’t care who you are. Now I don’t know that I’m the smartest person in the world, but what I do know is that you can NEVER solve anything the right way and the final way by fighting fire with fire or fighting with violence and hatred. Are their racist/sexist white male Americans that exist in America and the world? Yes. Is EVERY single white, male American in this country a racist/sexist? Absolutely not. That is a stereotype that now many white male American men have to face and stand for. Is every LGBTQ person a “bad” person? Absolutely not. Are there people that identify as LGBTQ who are “bad” people? Yes. Is every single woman “rude” and “crazy”? Absolutely not. Are there woman out there who are “rude” and “crazy’? Yes. Is every single WHITE PERSON against people of different races? Absolutely not. Are there white people out there who are against certain races? Yes. Is every single person of color, or any different race, a “bad” person, or a “dangerous” person? Absolutely not. Are there people of color out there who are “bad” people”, or “dangerous”? Yes. There are dangerous people everywhere, it doesn’t matter what race or gender you are. There are mean and rude people everywhere, it also does not matter what race or gender you are. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM, WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, WHAT RACE YOU ARE, WHAT SEXUALITY YOU HAVE, WHAT MATTERs IS WHO YOU ARE AS PERSON ON THE INSIDE, WHAT VALUES YOU HOLD AS AN INDIVIDUAL, AND THE WAY YOU TREAT OTHERS. What do you stand for in this life? One of the most influential men in our Nation’s history, Martin Luther King, once said: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
I stand for peace and unity for all, and you should too. I urge you to continue on in this life with the most positive and peaceful attitude than ever before. I challenge you to never give up. I dare you to do one thing every day that puts you outside your comfort zone, and do one thing everyday that helps the good of the people. Do favors for people and don’t ask for anything in return, do it because you have kindness in your heart to do so. Tell someone they matter, because they do. We all matter. Because without all of us here, so different and so diverse, we wouldn’t make up the nation that we have stood for since the United States constitution was written. Freedom and Peace for all. Wake up America. A wise man once said, “You either get tired of fighting for peace, or you die.” That man was John Lennon, and he stood for everything that this country seems to be forgetting about. WELL I’M HERE TO REMIND YOU! Respect yourself first, and then, respect every single other people you ever come across in your life. You do not know where people come from, their story, what is going on in their life, nothing. STAND FOR PEACE, MY AMERICANS. CREATE PEACE IN THIS NATION, WE SHOULD NOT BE LIVING IN FEAR. As Ghandi said, you have to be the change you want to see in the world. If we can all come together as one and spread peace like no other Revolution before, we will make history. I know we can do it. I know we can, America. Please don’t give up on yourself, but most importantly don’t give up on this nation that we have worked so hard for.
At this point, it won’t matter who is president, peacefulness and hope needs to be restored in this country. And we won’t get it with the path we are going down. Please, please take that into consideration.
I love you now and always, America.
We can do this.
