• An Open Letter to Indiana Wesleyan University Regarding the Removal of Candace Cameron’s Brother from the Society of World Changers

To the President, Trustees, and Administration of Indiana Wesleyan University:

Recently, an open letter has been circulating the internet calling for the removal of Dr. Ben Carson from Indiana Wesleyan University’s Society of World Changers. The article points to current actions and opinions of Carson as rightful cause for removal from the prestigious community of very rich and famous people.

While there may be an argument to be made, I think the more concerning point of conversation is the disturbing precedent that a decision such as this would set. If we are to say that a person is no longer a “world changer” due to poor decisions they make, it’s going to result in the removal of many more members of the society in the future. One member in particular who has more than earned his dismissal from the Society is none other than the Christmas saver himself: Candace Cameron’s brother.

I know what you’re going to say. You may be exclaiming, “but Fireproof was such a good message!” or “I actually somewhat enjoyed the original Left Behind film.” However, before you jump to any conclusions, hear me out.

Candance Cameron’s brother has been credited for his acting in 37 programs over the course of his career. Many of his acting credits come from feature length films, the most recent of which being “Saving Christmas” (a film he was also credited for producing).

    Terrible.

    This movie was absolutely terrible.

Saving Christmas earned a 30% audience enjoyment rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and an even more astounding 0% from top critics. Candace Cameron’s brother successfully produced and acted in one of the worst rated movies of all time.

Taking a step backward, the beloved “Fireproof” and “Left Behind” films earned a COMBINED critic approval rating of 56%, with “Fireproof” claiming responsibility for 40% of that total).

At a liberal arts institution, I’m encouraged to view all forms of art as valuable. I have a high amount of appreciation for quality films, and there are few things I like more than sitting down to enjoy a great movie.

Candace Cameron’s brother appears to be making every effort possible to destroy that enjoyment.

I humbly request that if Dr. Ben Carson is removed from the Society of World Changers, then you will promptly remove the bust of Candace Cameron’s brother as well. People must be held accountable for their mistakes, especially mistakes as big as “Saving Christmas”.

Thank you for your very valuable time that you spent reading my extremely serious letter, I hope to hear from you soon!

LOL. The old bait and switcheroo.

Personally, I think all voices in opposition to mine should be silenced. So, while I enjoyed your witty premise. I disagree with you.

Step right up to the guillotine, Marie.

P.S. Please don’t take my comment seriously. It is saturated in sarcasm. Except the first part. I thought your post was quite charming.
