• Wishing for forever, when forever could never be

Tell me, what it is you feel?
Do you feel anything at all, anything for me?
I can’t be the only one,
giving myself away to you, with fear.
You have me on my toes with a curiosity to know,
ready to bolt whenever stepping in too deep.
What I had wanted you to know was that you are enough for me,
that you’re the reason for it all,
you’re the face that I see.
    I wanted to depart
Knowing that although we took off,
    We’ll never be lonely
you’ll have my hand (and I, yours) to hold till the end of our story
But looking back at it now, perhaps, you were not the one
Because you’d have wanted the same things
    and never let me go
Instead would’ve wrapped me up in your arms,
    And never let me scream.
Maybe you realized you could do better
Or maybe were being selfish unknowingly
Truth is, the future feels like forever,
Yet we all know forever may never be.
