Been watching an anime recently called “welcome to the nhk”. It describes the life of a “hikkikomori” defined according to wikipedia as…

The term hikikomori refers to both the sociological phenomenon in general as well as to people belonging to this societal group. Hikikomori have been described as recluses, loners, or “modern-day hermits.

who are frequently “NEET” or “not engaging in education or training”

and it describes my life rather well. Problem is unlike the main character I don’t actually care to change. I have wished often to win the lottery, not to actually do anything with my life you understand. Just so money will not ever be a concern, the house where I lock myself up in will be nicer, and most importantly it means that all the thought patterns, attitudes and decisions that lead me here will have actually meant something. Shit anyway. 24 now, hopefully my diet of pizza and beer will kill me before I really start to feel the shame of being so damn selfish and stupid.
