I never studied you before – not like I should have. I should have studied your eyes and seen that they aren’t quite symmetrical. I should have seen that your nose is just a tad crooked. You’re stunning, really.
And try as I might, I can’t get the lips right. Your eyes took several iterations to get just right (and I still can’t capture the glow) and your nose gave a slight fight as well, but your lips…
Your lips always drew me in. They still do.
Your lips that dripped poetry. Your lips that were the light to a breath-taking soul. Your lips that invited me to forget life for a moment and be whisked away to another perspective.
I still can’t get them right.
And I’m quite sure I never will.
