• Where do I go?

People always mention how I never talk about myself or my personal life. I never talk about my problems to anyone because this is what happens…

When I tried to get professional help: “Other people have worse problems than you. You are wasting my time. Come back when you have a real problem.”

When I tried talking to an adult: “You should talk to someone your own age because they’ll be able to relate to you. I’m really sorry for what you’re going through.”

When I tried talking to my friends: “You honestly need professional help. This is affecting our friendship, and I won’t have you drag me down with you.”

What the hell am I supposed to do? Where the fuck do I go?!?

    1. Just a thought

I find that hard to believe, in a sense.

Either you have tried just one and picked a bummer (my fathers words lol)
or you live in an area where those people have so much business they can make these type of decisions.
I’ve seen it with cosmetic surgeons who were at the very top of the list and that;s about it.

In those local magazines the always have ‘Best Doctors’ It’s a once a year issue,
I don’t necessarily like that because I think there’s some exchange of money in the background
i(you do X ads per yr) but it is a starting place and listings are pretty legit/accurate.

Also, Catholic Charities has counseling and any referral from them I believe would be sound.

I only elongate this because there are so many frauds in that business. But…..
If you do enough searching and lets say you are given the same name from two different sources,
that’s one I would trust. If you find a good one, they definutely can help come up with answers and solutions. CBT seems to be an area that if they know that genre, they are likely good.

It just occurred to me. I had a eeennsee problem with an anxiety medicine once and learned I could get
more from a psychiatrist. lol. This guy would write a script for anything. That side of getting help is insane; they are just pill pushers. Agents of The Evil Empire,
But they would be in that “Best Dr.s in (name of city..probably on the net !) from your city magazine.
Call those people. Ask them who are 3 therapists they know who are any good.
(God, I’m so jaded anymore I wonder if they would even be helpful. It’s almost like if you haven’t spent
money with them, they aren’t interested in helping you. )

Last but not least, ask the GP where you get a checkup.

I was going to make a distasteful joke about a dentist referral but I’m not as crazy with the
humor as I used to be.

    2. Don't give up!

Just like people, therapists are human. That one sounds like an ass, who are they to judge how serious these issues are to you? Try someone else. There are good ones out there. If you’re friends aren’t supportive when you reach out to them for support you need to evaluate your friendships. It’s never too late to meet new people and make new connections. 🙂
