    Dear Mom,
Three days at the most. That’s all I’m asking for. Three days to just to be angry at you for screwing up my childhood so badly. For making me numb inside. For making nothing seem real, for making me feel like a ghost in someone else’s life. Yeah, I blame you. I don’t care what you think. I’m not gonna say you didn’t do anything for me, though. You paid for years of daycare, fed me well, gave me a home, stayed sober most of the time. So thanks for that. But I just need a couple days to stop pretending that I love you. Don’t yell at me. Don’t be mad. Just ignore me. That’s all I’ve ever asked for, and do you think maybe you could do that one thing for me? For three days? Just put all your attention on my sister. That’s what she deserves, anyway. You already screwed up on me, there’s no going back. Don’t try to fix it, you’ll only make it worse. Spend all your time on her. Just don’t raise her like you raised me. Please. Do that for three days, and maybe more, so maybe there will be hope for her.
