The truth is. I’m looking for something more.
More than a house and car in the suburbs.
    More than a 9-5 job that I can’t stand.
    I’m looking for something radical.
To walk with the people others ignore,
to laugh with those who have something to rejoice about
to cry with those who can’t shake off the clouds.
I want to be living with the bare minimum.
I want my kids to grow up loving the people
that I grew up afraid of
    Just because they’re different.
I’m looking for more than someone who
will look at me with adoring eyes
I want someone to hold my hand
as we walk into the unknown
    into poverty, depression,
    despair, and loss
I want someone to see my aching heart
    and cry with me.
I’m looking for someone who will look past
what everyone else sees in the world
    and see more.
    Because in the end
that’s all that really makes sense.
