Misunderstanding

To you who misunderstood my good intentions,
I’m sorry you mistook me as a bandwagoner who wants a piece of your pie. I’m sure you are surrounded by people like that, but I’m not like them. Unfortunately, the higher you go, the less people you could trust. I understand that, but still I am disappointed that you misjudged me. I was there before the success came, but timing was just not on our side.
Even before the fame, I had respected and admired you and your input, and had wished to be like you one day. You promised to mentor me, among other things, but you either lied or forgot about them. Your famous cousin was never part of the equation and I want nothing of it.
I thought we had an agreed level of humor, but you took my jokes personally and built up a wall. It’s too bad that you’ve tossed me aside because I supported you and what matters to you in my own way.
It’s a misunderstanding I don’t believe is worth the effort to fix as you have cut off all contacts. All promises and the good times are forgotten. You used me and when better things had come along, I was no longer needed and you don’t care even when you were causing my reputation to plummet.
You are your own person. Your famous cousin doesn’t define who you are. I hope one day you will realize this again. I really liked the you prior to the fame and glory. Goodbye, and I wish we had never met.
