Seriously, you should send this letter, because one of two things will happen: John will realize what type of person you, truly, are and/or it will show him how easily you toss around the word “friend”, so banally.
I know it seems like we’re deriding you, but your lack of empathy and compassion (virtues, in all regards of most civilized worlds) leaves much to be desired…
To help you understand: juxtapose your position[s] and imagine this letter was written by your ‘boyfriend’ or someone you liked/loved.
This doesn’t sound like a “friend” to me.
I’ve been in that position and that is not the way to handle it at all. You are very mean.
