Waiting…

February 3, 2012

Please Wait.
Waiting.
What does that include?
Hope, anxiety, curiosity, fear…
I am a freshman in college and I have been waiting for 19 long years.
While everyone around is having fun not waiting, including my twin sister, I choose to wait.
Why?
Because I believe that if you wait God will be so grateful that he will give you his most precious creation.
Yes, I am talking about sex.
Why would you throw away the most amazing bond with a person you are not even going to spend the rest of your life with?
Wait.
Wait to get married.
And yes it has been hard but I know that one day I will find someone that God has set aside for me.
Someone so special because I waited.
And some of you might say “Why wait, life is too short?”
And that is true, life is too short because heaven is eternal… and so is hell.
So tell me what you would rather do:
Spend what little time we have on Earth, fucking every guy you “like” while dying on the inside.
OR
Wait until marriage and give your most precious possession to only your husband and be with him eternally.
Wait and create a bond between you and your husband that you could have never imagined.
So I ask you,
Please Wait.

i wonder if you’d be so evangelical saying the same thing to the teenage victim of a rape, or to a woman who grew up in an abusive household. your truth is beautiful, eloquent, and altruistic, but it isn’t *the* truth, because your values and life goals are not the same as everyone else’s. i’m happy for you that you’re waiting, but make sure to never use that as a way to push your agenda or religious views on somebody else. stay humble and you’ll attract a man who is waiting to give you everything you’re able to give him. i wish you luck with life, and pray it all works out the way you’ve planned.

@christina; in no way what the person wrote sounds to me as if she were preaching and I am sure she is not talking about rape victms or abuse victims. She is talking about choosing right; that is what I understood from her letter.
