    Dear future child,

I want you to know that I have been waiting for you for what feels like a lifetime. I can’t guarantee that I will always be a good parent, but I will try.

Please know that no matter what happens in our lives, I will always love you. I know there will be times that you will dissapoint me, but still, I will always love you.

I can’t wait for the day when you spill milk on the kitchen floor or throw up on my laptop. When the time comes, it may seem like i’m upset with you, but know that I have been waiting for those days for a long time.

Please talk to me about your life. I want us to be close. Your grandmother and I have not had a relationship like that, but with you, the change will come. Always know that when I get mad at you, I end up being mad at myself. I want to hold you and comfort you.

If and when I mess up big time, know that I feel bad too. You are my world. No one will ever mean as much to me as you do. I love you with all of my heart.

    Mom.
