You say some words to start things off
The words on you lips just want a friend
    How delicate, sweet and soft
Are the lies, in your eyes

Baby you don’t need to say a word
When you turn your head at me
Cause everything you said I heard
    I’m done, can’t you see

I know better than to mess with you
Don’t you dare play me as a fool
Your lies only work on you
Today I’ve got nothing to say
But when you are so close to me
You make it so hard to believe
    Cause you feel so right
    When you’re next to me

I wish that I could be
    Everything you need and more
But how can we play this game
When nothing you wants the same

And every little thing I say
And every little thing I do
You take in a different way
I am not the one for you

I don’t mean to break your heart
But I never asked for it either
Our story was doomed from the start
Can’t you see it wasn’t meant to be

And I can see the way
The way you look at me
    Baby don’t try to pretend
    Pretend this isn’t the end

I know better than to mess with you
Don’t you dare play me as a fool
Your lies only work on you
Today I’ve got nothing to say
But when you are so close to me
You make it so hard to believe
    Cause you feel so right
    When you’re next to me
