Sometimes I question just how we live
Ain’t doing ya wrong it’s just the way it is
I try to tell ya how I feel
But the words just can’t make it real

How do ya keep a fire from raging
How do ya stop a love that’s burning
Ain’t no water to quench its thirst
Ain’t no time to heal what’s hurt

Time has taught us how to love
Your love has taught me how to live
Our hearts collide when we breathe
Come let’s take a journey on the seas
Far and wide just you and me
Away from the worries and all the fear
Star gazin’ as we laugh for hours
    Caught in each others charm

How do ya keep a fire from raging
How do ya stop a love that’s burning
Ain’t no water to quench its thirst
Ain’t no time to heal what’s hurt

Ain’t nothing that captures your beauty
Like those eyes that melt my heart
Ain’t nothing that soothes me better
    Like those sweet cool whispers

Holding on won’t make us strong
It will only burn us that much more
At least we know something now
What we may have later regret

I don’t know if you are the writer of all of these poems that are so moving, thought provoking, and musical lately besides this one. But this one in particular made me cry. If I didn’t know any better you are a born writer. Lovely. Just lovely.

Thanks! It’s encouraging when others can find meaning in what I write that is so personal to me. Writing is the most transparent projection of the heart.
