Okay, a few days ago I struck up a conversation with a friend. He was boasting how lately he hasn’t been getting sick because of a few changes he made in his life. One was regular exercise, another was taking probiotics, and the last was fasting. He fasts once a week. He does drink juice that he makes with a juicer. Being the type of person that I am, I decided to try it out. I’ve already been taking probiotics and exercising, all I needed to do was fast. Well I woke up this morning got out the juicer and proceeded to make juice. I decided to make enough juice to last me the whole day. I filled about two large glass water bottles. This process took around an hour-and-a-half. Well I drank a little of the juice took my vitamins and probiotics. Then, proceeded with my day. I made sure not to drink a great deal, so that it would last me through the day. Some time later I come back to the kitchen to get some more juice. Turns out my lovely sister drank almost all of the juice in one of my water bottles. GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!(By the way she isn’t fasting. She could eat whatever she wants.) Now, I’m hungry. Starving! At this point, the guy said I’m supposed to convince my brain that I’m not hungry. I walk around thinking to myself, “I’m not hungry, I’m not hungry”. I’m repeating this like a mantra. Well I decide to make some tea because I feel cold. I have low blood pressure, and the fact that I can’t eat isn’t helping. Well, while I wait for the tea kettle to boil the water, I walk around saying my mantra. While I do so I realize I just stuffed a cookie in my mouth. I stop myself and spit it out. Gross I know. But, I’m doing this fasting thing. Then, I make my tea and go on the computer. A few minutes later I go to kitchen. Why I went to the kitchen I don’t remember. But I realize I’ve stuffed myself with grapes this time. Luckily I catch myself and spit it out. Stupid fasting. Why can’t it be easier?

Just so you know, fasting is not necessarily good or helpful for everyone. It may not be for you. Talk to a doctor or a dietician before you try something like that.
