    Dear ex boyfriend,

We’re still in high school, things shouldn’t have been so serious anyway. Right?

Every girl is supposed to give up their innocence at latest 16. Right?

Prom isn’t everything. My shoes, my dress, my plans, they were silly. Weren’t they?

And high school boys shouldn’t be expected to be faithful. That’s too much to ask. Right?

I was just looking for approval. I was just looking for stability, somewhere, anywhere.
I haven’t had it easy, and you knew that. You promised me the galaxy, but you left me in a ditch. You capitalized on my weaknesses, you took advantage of me, and you know that.

So stop. Stop with the apologies, stop with the love letters, stop with the pleads.
You’re out of my life for good now. Thank you for teaching me a lot of lessons early on. The most important one is to love and respect myself, because if I don’t do it, nobody else will.

    Your ex girlfriend.
