guilt is a powerful, cunning emotion.
everybody is guilty about something. and it’s that feeling of remorse in the end that makes it all the more unbearable to walk towards the path of forgiving one’s self.
for in every forward step that we take, a picture of each of those acts flashes back in our memory. and all we can do is watch and relive each of the things that we have done so cowardly in the past. each of the painful and hurtful things that we have said, that we have done – to others and to ourselves. one by one, we are stripped off our masks of forgetfulness and we see before us the outcome of our lies and our selfish doings.
but, however, hard and painful it may all seem, we are faced with the awful truth that there is no other way out but to take on that one, narrow road towards redemption.
and to be redeemed from our own guilt, we must acknowledge our own failures. for it is within ourselves, and ourselves alone, can we accomplish true forgiveness for our own mistakes.
it may be difficult, but if we are to free ourselves from emotional torment, now is the time to take that one small step.
if we truly seek emotional happiness and freedom, we have to confront our past and learn from it.
we owe it to ourselves.
we owe it to other people.
