    Dear baby,

I know you are there, inside of me. I feel you everyday. I do love you, as no one will understand. You are a part of me now and forever. I hope that one day you understand the emotions I went though.

Your family was chosen because they needed you to complete their family. I love you just as much as I love my other children. You started in my body, but God made you to be in their family. Many people may not understand that, but if you turn to your high power then you will know it is true.

Baby, your mom loves you, your dad too. Your sister could not wait to be a big sister, and they tried for a long time to have a baby in their family. Then you came along and started to live inside of me. You and I have a bond that can never be broken. However, I am not your mother. I took care of you for nine months, but I am not your mom. Your mom is the one that will be up all night with you when you are sick. She is the one that will kiss all the scratches. Your dad will take care of you when you need someone.

My husband and I feel you grow everyday. We know that you are special to us. We love you so much. Many people may think that adoption is the answer for the biological mother and father. I want you to know that this is not the case for you. We could have taken care of you if you were ours, but you were not ours. From the very beginning, we knew you belonged to someone else. We love you so much and believe that you have found your true family.

If you ever think of me, remember that you were not given up, but given to your family. The family that raises you is your family. We gave you nutrition and your first breath, but your family will astound you with their love.

    Your birth giver,

This is a beautiful and well thought out letter. I understand, and know that your baby will thank you for your choice.
