    Did you know you were created with a purpose? To love and be loved.

    You’re worthy of love, you know. There may be times when you think you’re not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not funny enough, not tall enough, not thin enough, but don’t fall for those lies.

    You’re precious. You’re worth a lot more than the sum of your parts, the sum of your abilities, the sum of who people say you are. You’re worth more than even your own ridiculous expectations for yourself. You’re worth my time.

    Stop feeling like you need to change everything about yourself in order to be accepted and loved and noticed. I notice you. You’re beautiful. Not just your outer appearance, but your heart. It’s dark yet lovely.

    I know life hasn’t been easy, and I know how lonely it gets. When you cry, you wish someone would be there– not necessarily to make things better, or do or say the right thing, but just to NOTICE. I want you to know that I notice you.

    Cry out to me. I listen. Not just hear, but listen. Lean on me.
    I have searched you, and I know you well. Better than you know yourself. Much better than you think he knows you.

    I know when you sit and when you rise; I perceive all your thoughts from afar.
    I discern your going out and lying down; I’m familiar with ALL of your ways. Nothing you do surprises me. I am not disappointed with you or angry with you.
    Before a single word is on your tongue I know it completely.
    I hem you in behind and before, and lay my hand upon you.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for you, much too lofty for you to attain.
    There is nowhere you can go from my Spirit or my presence.
    If you go up to the heavens, I’m there;
    if you make your bed in the depths, I’m there.
    If you rise on the wings of the dawn, if you settle on the far side of the sea,
    even there I will guide you and hold you fast.
    If you say “SURELY the darkness will hide me and the light become NIGHT around me”– even then the darkness is not dark to me; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as LIGHT to me.

    I created your inmost being;
    i KNIT you together in your mother’s womb.
    Your frame wasn’t hidden from me when I made you in the secret place, when you were woven together in the depths of the earth.
    My eyes saw your unformed body;
    ALL the days ordained for you were written in my book before one of them even came to be.

    So don’t worry, okay? Let go of him. Stop trying so hard to protect yourself because I can do a much better job of guarding your heart than you can. Don’t forget that I made no mistakes when I made you (truly). You weren’t a mistake. It is so good that you were born, because you really matter.

    People may tell you they love you. Let me show you how much I love you. I can tell you as much as you need to hear, but wanna know how my love is different from everyone else? I died for you because you are worth dying for. It was so worth it, too. You are so worth it.

    I love you, daughter. I always have and always will. You’re never alone, even when you feel abandoned and unseen and trapped and hopeless and completely lost. You don’t have to try so hard to be strong and fend for yourself. I can be strong for you. Find me. I miss you. I adore you.
