I love you.
Although these many years have come and gone. You are still the one.
And I realize I have to let that go. Every now and then, though not very often, I wonder why we couldn’t make it work. Even so, I’m so happy to have shared part of my life with you, and lucky that you chose to share yours with me. Those memories always make me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. You have been such a blessing.
We were good together. We loved each other but somehow that wasn’t enough. You wanted something I couldn’t give you and you couldn’t be what I needed you to be. This used to make me sad but now I realize that everything works out for the best. I am happy that we have remained friends. I am hopeful about the future. I have no regrets.
Your wife is a lucky woman. And you’re going to be a great dad.
Love always. Your friend,
