    It’s beyond sadness…
Turn left on the heavily traveled road.
Down Washington St and in your porch light.
Merging onto the 680 South to San Jose
In the dark, walking in to my 9-5
    Trying to find my way.
Yet knowing the map is upside down.
    It’s beyond sadness, more hypocritical
Not vodka to feel nothing, but anything.
Desperate so I don’t sleep alone with my regret
Trusting you to believe I want nothing.
    Then falling in love.
Crying over my calluses and hard heart.
Running to a blue-collar job to fix my mistakes.
    It’s beyond sadness, more mediocre
It’s taking the road most traveled on.
It’s the definition of being fine.
It’s beyond sadness, more a waste of my time.
