I was so excited when you said yes to coffee with me. But me being me I told myself, that you would cancel on me, or just not show up. I had to force myself to think otherwise, to remind myself that you said yes. YOU SAID YES! It wasn’t a big question or the start of a marriage but it was a date, a date with an attractive guy who I like. I was so thrilled to be going out with you, I even bought a new shirt, and a pair of shoes. Friday rolled around we had class together and I was convinced that you would come in and tell me about how you were sick and couldn’t go or some other excuse, but to my surprise you never did. I couldn’t contain my joy that it was really going to happen and I was wrong. My phone buzzed that night and I knew it was a text from you. Not even a call a text. “Sorry can’t go, aunt coming over for the weekend.” That’s all I got, an excuse about a family member coming over. If you had not wanted to go out why say yes in the first place? J
