Dear South Carolina,
Every time I see you, I try to think of all the good things that happened between us but it all falls short of that one bad thing you did. Sure, it was after I broke up with you… but I pass the house everyday I go out, wincing as I drive by. Why did you do it?
You told me why but I still don’t understand. I never knew you were this weak… this makes me glad I broke up with you. What if we Had gotten married and we had a fight? It burns me inside to know this terrible secret you’ve never told anyone else. Why did you have to tell ME? The one person it would affect the most?
But I forgive you. I never have to tell you but if you stumble upon this website one day, you may find your forgiveness here in this letter. Besides, who else referred to each other as states?
Scorned but healing,
