• Dear Oregon,

I love you and I need you. I know that we’re in a tough situation right now, but I’m determined and I hope you are too, because you’re all I have to hang onto in this world. There was a time, before I knew you, where I wandered aimlessly, convinced that life was not for me; I had ruled out all possibility of happiness until I met you. I was so naive. You made me see that in this life, where we only have one chance to find happiness, patience is necessary for survival. I had hope without patience, and I had given my resignation. My dreams were dying.

But then I loved you, and now you’re the only thing I’m waiting for.
    None of the rest matters.

That is why I will wait for you. I will wait until the day we always talk about, some far-off day when we don’t have to dream anymore and we can find happiness in our waking hours, together at last.

Sometimes I am afraid that you don’t feel the same way I do; sometimes I’m afraid that when that day comes, you won’t be there or you’ll turn away. Sometimes I want to give up, but I cannot, because there is a chance that things will work out and the one shot I’m taking for happiness in my life won’t miss.

What is the name of the person this was meant for? What is your first name?
